SEE Gaming Business Forum
The SEE Gaming Business Forum was held on November 20, 2020, and is the first event of this kind focused on South East Europe.
Objectives
Due to this being our first gaming event, we wanted to raise the event profile and attract professional public and interested parties with an intent that the event would grow year on year.
New Angles Consulting brought together C-level executives, software suppliers and major providers, casino and sportsbook operators, payment solutions companies, affiliates, and national regulators to discuss the industry requirements, regulatory obstacles, social responsibility, business strategy, and the role of technology in the industry.
Instead of the physical conference, we had initially planned for spring 2020, the whole event was converted into a one-day virtual forum that kept the previously planned concept of an “in-person event” theme and regional audience.
In order to still be able to bring the gaming community together and to share their goals and visions without having to wait another year, we decided to adapt and find a way to engage with delegates.
The Forum was institutionally supported by the Serbian Gaming Authority, Ministry of Finance, and MaxBet Group was the Forum’s platinum sponsor.
The next year’s Forum is planned for October 2021 as an in-person event in Belgrade, Serbia.
Overview/Solution
New Angles Consulting oversaw all aspects of the virtual event, including branding, design, content creation, registrations, speaker preparation, set-up, delivery, and liaison with sponsors and exhibitors. The Forum was streamed through the Whova event application and was divided into 4-panel sessions running from 10 am – 15.00 pm CET time, allowing sponsors and exhibitors to place their virtual booths in an exhibition area where they could engage with attendees and provide downloadable materials and information.
Speakers included renowned and worldwide industry professionals discussing a range of topics, including the Director of the Serbian Gaming Authority who gave the opening remarks. Representatives of the Malta Gambling Authority and the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) also spoke at the conference together with their colleagues from GVC, Sportingbet, Betsson, MaxBet, Betagy, ElBet, Push Gaming, Relax Gaming, AskGamblers, Blinking.
Sessions featured interactive elements like live chat functions, Q&As, and polls so that delegates could have direct conversations.
Results
The virtual forum ran smoothly and enabled interactive discussion and networking. By pivoting to a fully virtual event, we were able to position this event as a leading regional event in the gaming industry.
