SEE Fintech Forum – Finticipate Vol.1

The first SEE Fintech Forum – Finticipate was held on the 3rd of June 2022 at the Mona Plaza Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia, on a virtual event platform, Zoom.

Being our first independent FinTech event, the focus was strongly put on gathering the widest possible regional and European fintech community which included of end-users, traditional businesses, banks, VCs, PE funds, angel investors, C-level executives, advisors, start-ups companies, payment solutions companies, government representatives and national regulators from the SEE region to discuss the industry requirements, regulatory obstacles, business strategy, and the role of technology in the financial industry.

One-day Forum was packed with content – 32 speakers in five panels, one fireside chat on microlending and one workshop in which we talked about the emerging VC world of the CEE region.

The following year’s Forum is planned for June 2023 as a hybrid event in Belgrade, Serbia.

Overview/Solution

New Angles Consulting oversaw all aspects of a hybrid event, including onsite and virtual branding, design, content creation, registrations, speaker preparation, set-up, rehearsals, delivery, and liaison with sponsors and exhibitors. The Finticipate was a hybrid event and streamed through the Zoom application.

The Forum was divided into 5-panel sessions, a fireside chat and a workshop, running altogether, from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm CET time.

Speakers included renowned and worldwide industry professionals discussing various topics, including the Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, who gave the opening remarks and a keynote speaker, Founder & CTO of the Powrs (Sweden), a fintech start-up company. Some of our representatives were the Fintech Coordinator from the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA), Director of the Team for IT and Entrepreneurship Office of the Prime Minister from the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Chairman of the Securities Commission Republic of Serbia and CNB Fintech Coordinator/Advisor at Office of the Governor of the Croatian National Bank, as well as many well-known international and regional players in the fintech market, start-up companies, entrepreneurs, medium and large companies, innovators, banks, regulators, financial experts, non-banks, investment funds, financial institutions, and technology companies such as Raiffeisen Bank, Finspot, BDO Ventures, Motika Law, AI startup airt, Leanpay, Aircash, Identyum, Monri Payments, Powrs, EasyPay, ECD, DL Capital Partners, Haptic Synaptic, Comtrade System Integration, Vuković & Partners, CFA Society Serbia, WM Equity Partners, Payoneer, iPay, ICT Hub Venture, Autology, Mobi Banka, Digital Serbia Initiative, SmartOne FinTech, Electrocoin, EWPN, Polygon, etc.

Results

The Forum created a unique meeting place which enabled mingling, sharing knowledge, interactive discussion and networking. By pivoting to a hybrid event, we were able to position this event as a leading regional event in the FinTech industry. Both virtual and onsite editions ran smoothly with interactive discussion and networking.
