SEE NPL + Finance Forum Vol.8

The SEE NPL + Finance Forum is a prominent annual event that has established itself as a central gathering for professionals in the financial, NPL, and regulatory sectors. It attracts a wide range of participants including banking professionals, investors, regulators, turnaround management specialists, appraisers, and consultants, who all come together to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and network. Widely recognized by the regional financial and NPL community as a must-attend event, the Forum serves as a premier platform for addressing issues crucial to the development of the NPL and financial markets in Southeast Europe.

SEE NPL + Finance Forum Vol. 8 took place on November 29th, 2024, in a hybrid format, combining onsite sessions with online participation via the Zoom platform. This year marked a significant evolution for the event, as the Forum expanded its scope beyond the NPL market, renaming itself the SEE NPL + Finance Forum to reflect the broadening of topics covered. The Forum’s new approach offered comprehensive insights into various aspects of the financial sector, including the state of regional NPL markets, economic trends, and the impact of emerging financial technologies and regulations.

Objective

Remaining committed to our core mission of providing high-quality content, we assembled a distinguished group of speakers to address critical topics. These included macroeconomic analysis from various institutional viewpoints, emerging trends in financial services such as digitalization, ESG principles, and the influence of AI on banking. The discussions also covered the regional NPL market as an economic indicator, the vital role of real estate valuation models in credit and NPL markets, strategies for advancing capital market development, and the expansion of factoring services as an alternative financing solution for SMEs.

Goal

The past eight editions of the SEE NPL + Finance Forum have gathered over 1,200 key stakeholders and regional market leaders, fostering the exchange of practical experiences and insights through interactive panel discussions. These forums have underscored the relevance of NPL market investment potential and its importance for economic growth in the region. This year’s event attracted over 230 industry stakeholders from 10 countries, both onsite and online.
